Written Program Development

How good is your written safety program?

DSP Safety Services can review your existing program or create one based on your company’s operations.  Written programs are now even more important as owners and general contractors are requesting these in advance of your quote for services.

Written programs are also reviewed by OSHA to determine how hazards have been addressed in the written program.  They then review the conditions in the shop or field to see if the program has been implemented.

It is very important that management enforce the program on all sites.  Warnings and suspensions must be documented.

Some key elements of a good safety program include:

  • Return to work
  • Accident investigation
  • Hazard communication
  • Fall protection
  • Personal protective equipment policy
  • Management safety policy
  • Manual material handling procedures
  • Electrical safety
  • Housekeeping
